Abandoned home damaged in fire

GIBSONTON, Fla. - Authorities are investigating an early morning fire at an abandoned Gibsonton home. The blaze broke out at 1:30 a.m. at 7298 Symmes Road near cross section of Tangle Creek Boulevard. No one was living at the home and no electricity was running to the building, according to Hillsborough Fire and Rescue. The rear and side of the home suffered major damage. There are no injuries to report. The fire remains under investigation.
