Port Orange woman killed in Daytona Beach accident Thursday night

Daytona Beach Police report that an area resident was killed following a traffic accident late Thursday night. The accident report by Daytona Beach police officer Michael Dill indicates that 36-year old Kimberly J. Staton of Port Orange ran into the path of a southbound vehicle on North Williamson Boulevard south of Valor Boulevard Thursday night around 10:18pm. Police spokesperson Jimmie Flynt says the woman had been taken to Ormond Memorial Hospital earlier in the day, after Ormond Beach police found her unconscious in a restroom around 12:40pm Thursday. Flynt reports that after Staton had been "...medically cleared by the hospital..." around 6:30pm Thursday evening, Daytona Beach police were called to Ormond Memorial about a "...unruly intoxicated person."
