NEW YORK, New York - U.S. investors fretted Tuesday while the U.S. central bank deliberated on whether to hike interest rates another time. The decision will not be known until the Federal Reserve's regular two-day monthly meeting wraps up on Wednesday.
"We know that we're closer to the end of the hiking cycle than the beginning," Kevin Gordon, senior investment strategist at Charles Schwab told CNBC Tuesday. "How they're viewing the next year out, or at least turning the corner in 2024, is much more important."
S&P 500 (^GSPC) The S&P 500 index closed at 4,443.95, marking a decrease of 9.58 points, or 0.22 percent.
